“In This One Life, Renée Owen offers four courses of poems that mark life’s ups and downs. The poet employs a palette of word spices to flavor a sometimes challenging poetic meal, ranging from celebrations of nature to the devastation of the California wild fires—but ending with hope.”
Renée Owen’s poetry, informed by a love of nature, is widely published and has won numerous awards. This One Life (Backbone Press) won 2nd Place in Backbone’s Haiku Chapbook Contest. Alone On A Wild Coast, her first full-length collection, was jointly awarded first prize in the Snapshot Press Book Awards and an Honorable Mention in the Touchstone Distinguished Book Awards. Renée is an active member of the Haiku Poets of Northern California and the Wellspring Poets, and a practicing psychotherapist.
